🔬 Thermogravimetric Analysis of Magnesium Formate
Magnesium formate is widely used in the chemical and materials industries. Understanding its thermogravimetric behavior is crucial for assessing thermal stability and optimizing production processes. Using the STA-1250S simultaneous thermal analyzer, we conducted precise weight loss experiments on magnesium formate powder, capturing detailed thermal behavior data.
🔥 DSC Glass Transition Temperature Test of Acrylic Solid Resin
Acrylic solid resin, an amorphous polymer, is defined by its glass transition temperature (Tg), which governs its molecular chain mobility and material application scenarios. The DSC-600S Differential Scanning Calorimeter was used to measure the heat flow changes of the resin under a specific temperature program, determining its Tg and providing valuable thermal data for optimizing processing techniques and selecting application environments.
📊 Test Conditions:
- 5mg acrylic solid resin sample placed in an aluminum crucible, with a blank crucible as the reference.
- Temperature program: Start at 25°C, increase at 20°C/min to 200°C and hold for 5 minutes, then decrease at 20°C/min to 100°C and hold for 5 minutes, followed by a second heating cycle.
- High-purity nitrogen gas flow for protection.
The DSC-600S recorded clear heat flow data, with a distinct baseline step observed between 90-110°C during the first heating. After temperature stabilization, the Tg was identified with the baseline step becoming more pronounced. Analysis showed Tg values at the following:
- Start: 128.35°C
- Mid: 132.60°C
- End: 136.85°C
🔑 Key Takeaway:
This acrylic solid resin thermal analysis experiment, conducted with the precise DSC-600S, provided reliable Tg data, offering crucial support for resin applications.
