Precautions for Using 99% Alumina Crucibles
-
Pre-drying: Before first use, heat the crucible at approximately 105°C for 120 minutes to remove moisture.
-
Avoid direct flame: Do not use gasoline, acetylene, or alcohol torches to prevent uneven heating and cracking.
-
Maintain clearance: Keep at least 2 cm between the crucible and heating elements (e.g., carbon tubes, SiC rods, heating wires).
-
Temperature control:
-
Below 1200°C: ≤5°C/min
-
Above 1200°C: ≤4°C/min
-
Avoid abrupt temperature changes or immediate power-off cooling.
-
-
Proper placement: For large crucibles, avoid direct contact with the furnace floor. Use corundum plates or supports to enhance air circulation and extend lifespan.
