Precautions
Before first use, preheat in an oven at ~105°C for 120 minutes to remove moisture.
Avoid direct flames (gasoline, acetylene, alcohol) to prevent cracking from uneven heating.
Maintain a distance >2 cm between the setter and heating elements (carbon tubes, silicon carbide rods, heating wires).
Heating/cooling rates: <5°C/min below 1200°C, <4°C/min above 1200°C; use controlled cooling at high temperatures. For large setters, avoid direct contact with the furnace floor—use high-temperature resistant supports (e.g., corundum plates) to promote air circulation and extend lifespan.
