Usage Precautions for 99% Alumina Crucibles
-
Pre-drying: Prior to first use, place the crucible in an oven at approximately 105°C for 2 hours to remove moisture.
-
Avoid Direct Flame: Do not use gasoline torches, acetylene torches, or alcohol lamps for direct heating to prevent cracking from uneven heat distribution.
-
Keep Distance from Heating Elements: Maintain at least a 2 cm gap between the crucible and heating elements (such as carbon tubes, SiC rods, or heating wires).
-
Control Heating/Cooling Rate:
-
Below 1200°C: ≤ 5°C per minute
-
Above 1200°C: ≤ 4°C per minute
-
Use controlled power cooling to avoid rapid cooling and cracking.
-
-
For Large Crucibles: Place the crucible on high-temperature-resistant materials, like corundum plates, to elevate it and promote air convection, which helps extend the crucible’s lifespan and ensures uniform heating.
